When we were asked to tackle product 360s of mobile phones, we tried to search for reference images but quickly discovered that no-one at that time was producing true 360s of phones without propping them up against perspex stands or even just using renders. We thought that stands looked ugly (and blocked some of the device) so we wanted a solution which allowed a true, unencumbered 360 degree view.
After a lot of trial and error, we realised why no-one else was doing it! It's actually a very difficult technical challenge to produce a well-lit, completely clear view of a product which is basically a mirror on both sides... However, in true Blue Peter style (dismantling drill bit holders / cutting up charger cables and very careful lighting) we eventually cracked it.
